St. Isaac Jogues and
Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha
St. Isaac Jogues (1607-46) was martyred by American Indians in New York. As French Jesuit missionary to the Canadian and American Indians,
he was always in constant danger. The Pope gave him the privilege of celebrating mass even though several
of his fingers had been burned off.
His Feast Day is October 19.
Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha (1656-80) was the first "Blessed" American
Indian. She led a difficult life of abuse from her own people because of her unwavering faith.
A new church in LaGrange has her name.
Her Feast Day is July 14.
This window is located near the tabernacle.
